Dr. Lindsay Woods spent years building a career as an emergency room physician. It was a job that demanded calm under chaos and an unshakeable commitment to others. Then, at 37, a breast cancer diagnosis put everything on the line, right in the middle of raising two young children. A few years later, the sudden devastating loss of her close family member forced the same question again: if everything was on the line, what would she actually choose?
During her recovery, Lindsay discovered coaching, and it was transformational. It gave her a new perspective on healthcare, on identity, and on what it really means to care for herself. That experience led her to pursue formal certification in Organizational Coaching through the University of British Columbia. Today, she works with healthcare workers, busy parents, professionals and leaders who feel stuck, burned out, or ready for change, helping them move from survival mode to a life built around their own values. Her approach is practical, down to earth, and grounded in real experience.
Lindsay continues to work in the field of emergency medicine, advocating for improvements in the healthcare system, patient safety and quality improvement, and reducing burnout and improving wellness for healthcare workers. She is also the founder of Dream Dads, a community and event series that includes the popular Brews and Braids nights, built for modern, involved dads. It was inspired by watching her own husband thrive as their family's primary parent, and by wanting to give father figures the kind of community and support system moms have long had.
Lindsay speaks on The Art and Science of Bold Moves, blending a physician's respect for evidence and risk with the intuition and honesty it takes to choose a life that's actually true to you. Outside of work, she loves to travel, spend time in nature, and show up for her most important job of all: parenting her kids alongside her husband in North Vancouver, BC.
